MEMOTONEWS - Jeneva Swiss Magdalena, a researcher from the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescend (IFRC), said that she was very impressed when conducting research in Lawen Village, Pandanarum District.
For a full day on Thursday 24 November 2022 yesterday, he and the Central PMI team exchanged ideas with the Lawen Village Community-Based Disaster Preparedness Team (CBAT).

As previously shown, the visit of the IFRC and PMI Center is an agenda as well as a study in the context of research and the impact of community involvement and accountability in the health sector.
Lawen was chosen as the object of research due to his success in running a community involvement program in accelerating the handling of Covid-19 and vaccination centers at the end of last year.
"The Sibat Lawen team is very active and participates in involving the community and increasing accountability and trust in PMI," continued Magdalena.
He further explained that various activities and effective ingredients were applied as an effort to deal with the health crisis that occurred when the Covid-19 outbreak hit.
The Lawen Village Sibat Team, with its young and creative members, succeeded in integrating elements of culture and local wisdom as well as regional character in leading the community to be health conscious.
"This combination is an interesting thing, when at that time the Covid-19 outbreak was peaking, they continued to act to raise awareness and educate the public to implement the prokes," he wrote.
The CBAT Team in Lawen village also carried out various methods and efforts to involve the community, such as partnering with community leaders, religious leaders and various other elements with the grumbul system.
"They can accommodate all interests so that they can move together and ultimately succeed in an integrated vaccination activity," said Magdalena.
They were able to solve various challenges, issues and rumors as well as warnings that developed in the community at that time by cooperating with various institutions such as village midwives, village officials, health centers.
"So this intervention made us interested and traced while visiting several beneficiary houses from Lawen's CBAT Team activities," he said.
The activity, which was carried out at the Lawen Sibat Team Post, included several discussion group sessions with the community, the CBAT Team and the person in charge of the activity program.
"This is a matter of pride for us, where we have special guests from IFRC Switzerland and PMI Center which will definitely become history," he said.
He further explained that in this activity, he served with the Sibat team to present data related to the community involvement program in an effort to accelerate the handling of Covid-19.
"Our data is presented in full as needed and of course correlates to real actions and performance results that have been achieved," said Abhen.

Head of Publication and Documentation Sub-Directorate of the Central PMI Public Relations Bureau, Aulia Arriani, said that Indonesia was one of several countries selected for the research object and focused on two locations.
"Besides Indonesia, on the Asian continent, several countries that are the research sites are Guatemala (America), Georgia (Europe), Guinea and Malawi (Africa)," he said.
He hopes that through the research conducted, it can become a valid reference and input data to make important documents into archives at the IFRC Geneva Switzerland.
